PHASE 5 MATRIX

The Matrix has become a force in the Phase 5 lineup. Set up to be a true skim style board that is super responsive, and trick friendly. The symmetrical nose and tail make it the perfect board to ride revert. The Matrix quickly transitions rail to rail and is extremely fast down the wave line.

PHASE 5 KEY

The Key is an inch shorter than the Matrix on each offered size. Features a nub-shaped nose that shortens the overall length of the board for faster rotation on tricks like pop shuvits and spins. The nub nose makes it so the board doesn't nose dive as easily. The Key carries a lot of speed through transitions during trick combinations and its thin core makes the board really poppy.

MODEL BREAKDOWN

KEY MODELS:

For 2026, Phase 5 has four versions of the Key wakesurf board:

  • Key
  • Key Jett Shreds
  • Key Stewart Pro
  • Key CL

If you're wondering what separates these models, you're not alone—and we're here to make it simple.

The Key, Jett Shreds & Stewart Pro: Same Ride, Different Look

  • All three models- the Key, Key Jett Shreds, and Key Stewart Pro—are built with the same high-performance Carbon Innegra construction.
  • They share the same weight, flex and feel on the water
  • The only difference is the graphic design and available sizes.
  • The Stewart Pro offeres smaller sizes, designed with female riders in mind

Pro Tip: If you love one of the graphics- go ahead and grab it in that graphic knowing you'll be getting the same ride as the other ones.

Key CL: Same Shape, Different Construction

  • The Key CL introduces a fiberglass composite layup, making it a more affordable alternative
  • while it has slightly more flex, it keeps the same shape and outline as the original Key
  • This is perfect for beginner-intermediate riders looking for Key-style performance without the premium price tag.

MATRIX MODELS:

For 2026, the Matrix lineup includes two models:

  • Matrix
  • Matrix Payne Pro

Let's walk through the difference between the Matrix and the Matrix Payne Pro—spoiler alert: it’s mostly about style.

Matrix vs Matrix Payne Pro

  • Both models are identical in construction and performance. They’re built with Phase 5’s premium Carbon Innegra layup, delivering a lightweight, responsive ride with explosive pop—ideal for skimming, spinning, and pushing limits on the water.
  • The Difference? The Payne Pro is the signature edition by pro rider Parker Payne, featuring a unique graphic design not found on the standard Matrix.

Rest assured—when choosing between Matrix models, you're simply picking the graphic that fits your style.
