The O'Neill Competition Vest lineup redefines industry standards with cutting-edge performance-driven technology. Renowned for being the lightest vests in the water, they've now been enhanced to be even lighter, stronger, and faster-drying than ever before.

Featuring Nytrolite Foam Technology, these vests utilize low-density polyethylene expanded using Nitrogen in an exclusive process that cannot be replicated. This innovative approach makes them 3x lighter than PVC foam, with a closed-cell structure that absorbs 15-20% less water. Additionally, they're approximately 10% more buoyant than PVC, allowing for the use of less foam in each vest while maintaining the same level of flotation.

With these advancements, the O'Neill Competition Vest lineup offers unmatched performance, comfort, and safety for athletes in the water, setting a new standard of excellence in the industry.

FAQ

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COMP AND A CGA VEST?

A CGA vest is a U.S. Coast Guard–approved life jacket designed to provide maximum flotation and meet legal safety requirements on most public waterways. It is thicker and more buoyant to help keep you afloat in an emergency. A comp vest (competition vest) is not Coast Guard approved. It is thinner, lighter, and more flexible for better mobility, but it does not meet legal life jacket requirements on most public lakes and rivers.

How do I know it fits?

If it zips, it fits. Comp vests are designed to fit snug, so if you can zip it up, it’s the right size. They will loosen slightly once they get wet, which is why we recommend starting with a tight fit.

Who should wear a comp vest?

Comp vests are best suited for experienced riders who are confident in the water and prioritize mobility and comfort while riding. They are commonly worn by advanced wakeboarders, wakesurfers, and cable park riders who want a slimmer fit and greater freedom of movement. Comp vests are not recommended for beginners, children, or anyone riding in situations where a Coast Guard–approved life jacket is required.
