The MVP skim style wakesurf board features full deck EVA grip with both tail and nose kick tail support for expert level riding. The only board built in the P5 range that has Rail Grab Channels, the MVP offers the rider a pronounced spot to grab when executing tricks above the lip. For 2022, John Akerman decided he wanted to change the tail because he was looking for more speed and traction for big maneuvers. The “Moon” tail delivers those needs. The overall shape from the tail up didn’t change at all which keeps the boards high performance and forgiveness aspects in check. We firmly believe the minor tweaks in the tail will take the MVP to new heights! It is equipped with a single 1” fin and double concave bottom with a V-Spline tail that gives the board a true skim style feel.

Construction Types

  • Stealth performance

    Phase 5's newest surf-style construction, Stealth, is the first in their lineup to feature basalt. It uses a basalt/Innegra top weave reinforced with a carbon stringer and tail patches, along with a full Innegra bottom sheet and carbon stringer. This is the strongest layup Phase 5 offers, delivering top-tier durability without sacrificing performance. It provides powerful pop and a lively feel, and is reserved for their highest-end Performance shapes.

  • GatorSkin Supertough

    GatorSkin™ Super Tough Glass is a lightweight glass weave that integrates Carbon and Aramid fibers. It delivers a fast, stiff ride designed for riders who demand top-level performance.

  • FlexTec v2

    FlexTec V2 has been the core construction method behind Phase 5’s surf-style boards for years. Its layup includes a full Innegra bottom sheet with a carbon stringer, paired with a full Innegra top sheet reinforced by both a carbon stringer and carbon vector netting. This advanced blend of glass and epoxy resin results in an ultra-strong surf-style board built for durability and long-lasting performance.

  • CI-V Carbon Glass

    A specialized weave combining Carbon and Innegra fibers. The Innegra is integrated into the Carbon in vertical strands, creating a distinct visual pattern. This material is lightweight and produces a fast, stiff board designed for riders seeking peak performance.

  • Composilite Construction

    Extremely durable molded construction, crafted specifically for Phase 5’s entry-level wakesurfers. This exclusive build technology is proudly developed and manufactured in the USA by Phase 5.
